My Top Ten Favourite Home Decor DIYs

As many people do when the new year is ushered in, I've been dreaming about making changes and updates in my life, and new possibilities. On the forefront of my mind: updating my home! As much as I love decor and design, the design of my own home has really taken a backseat to everything else over the past year.

Instead of sharing my resolutions for 2015, I've assembled my top ten favourite DIY projects from home decor bloggers around the web. Hope that these beautiful images inspire you!

One Room Challenge with Abby M. Interiors

We were so excited to work with Abby Manchesky of Abby M. Interiors on her transformation of this bedroom for the Fall 2014 edition of the One Room Challenge. Her choice of our Stone lumbar pillow with black grosgrain trim and classic circle monogram is perfect for this this sophisticated bedroom.

To see more photos of the dramatic makeover and to read about Abby's design process, you can read her blog here.

Monogram Clothing at Olympia Le-Tan SS2015

Everyone knows that my love for monogramming has no bounds... Pillows? Naturally. Tote bags? Absolutely. Velvet smoking slippers (check out these beauties here)? Sure, why not? My rampant desire to emblazon my initials upon every item I own was confined to accessories and home decor until I saw Olympia Le-Tan's Spring/Summer 2015 line at Paris Fashion week. Monograms on every piece of clothing? YES PLEASE!
You may remember Le-Tan from her eponymous line of embroidered clutches based upon classic novels that were all the rage a couple of years ago. From the limited amount of French that I can deduce on the Paris Vogue website, Le-Tan's inspiration came from the British cult classic movies, St. Trinian's, about a motley crue of rogue schoolgirls more interested in hijinx than high tea (checking Netflix for it right now). "The fashion was inspired by school uniforms, mostly because I didn't get to wear one", says Le-Tan. Coming from someone that did wear a uniform to high school, I can tell you that these alphabet-laden beauties are far more exciting than the gray and maroon kilt that I did wear.
While we can't all fly to Paris to view the collection in it's alphabet-laden glory, it is available to see on the Paris Vogue website. You can view the entire collection here, or enjoy some snippets below!

One Headboard, Two Ways

I've been spending a lot of time daydreaming about a new upholstered headboard (with tufting, please!). I'm not sure if I will go the DIY route or just buy one, but I definitely have my eye on this vine fabric-covered one from Furbish Studio. While I traditionally stick with crisp white bedding and calming accents in the bedroom, I couldn't resist daydreaming about a pop of bold, bright orange in the form of throw pillows. What do you think -- which style do you like best?

Monogram Obsession: Stubbs + Wootton Slippers

Try as I might, I will never be the girl that spends her life teetering around in sky-high heels. Give me a pair of ballet flats - preferably with a bow - and I'll be a very happy girl. Which is why I have been non-stop dreaming about these magnificent embroidered slippers from Stubbs + Wootton. Comfy slippers in bright colours paired with a monogram? Too good to be true. This must be the reason that they're Victoria Beckham's go-to flat shoe (for the one day a year that she discards her heels).

Stubbs + Wootton was founded in Palm Beach by a former investment banker who wanted to elevate the classic smoking slipper. All of the slippers are completely handcrafted to your specifications; choose from a rainbow of colourful velvets and linens with leather or linen accent trim. From there, you can choose your uber-preppy motif (many of them are quite cheeky!), or a hand-embroidered monogram in silver or 18-carat gold wire. Browse through their beautiful, Happy Menocal designed website here.
